Another lesson I remember learning from one of my professors at Asbury (I can’t remember if it was Dr. Robert Stamps or Dr. Ellsworth Kalas) was this: “Share your scars with your people, but don’t bleed on them.” Basically, vulnerability is good, but your people should come away from your message feeling empowered, and not leave feeling worried about you.
