What is Preacher’s Block?

Preacher’s Block is an online co-working space of preachers who want to both write better sermons and spend less time on those sermons. Multiple times a week, we join a Zoom call for 90 minutes of focused writing time, beginning with a brief “check in” to set our intentions for the “block,” and then spend almost 90 minutes on mute while we work on our most important task (typically, a sermon). At the end of our time together, we share and celebrate what we accomplished.

Frequently Asked Questions

Preacher’s Block is for preachers of all kinds! During each 90-minute block, we invite you to focus on your “most important task.” Since most of us are preachers, that means our “most important task” is typically a sermon. Because of the community and focus though, many participants will come with the most important task of preparing a Bible study, working on a bulletin, or studying for a class.
