Lead Me as I Lead Them

In Exodus 33, after God’s anger burned against the Israelites for making a golden calf, God tells them that He will send an angel ahead of them to lead them to the promised land, but He won’t go with them. Moses replies, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” (‭33‬:‭15‬) The other week, on Sunday morning before preaching, I prayed, “Lead me as I lead them.” It just kind of came out, but when it did, I thought of this passage. If God’s Presence isn’t leading us as we lead our ministries, we’re heading towards the wrong place. Maybe that could be your prayer going into this week: Lead me as I lead them.
