Don’t preach every sermon at once. It can be easy to try to say too much, to make too many good points, to refer to too many Scripture passages. Limit yourself. Our congregations can only handle hearing one sermons’ worth of content at once. So just preach one sermon, not multiple sermons packaged into one. This can be especially difficult for those of us who don’t preach every week because we’ve been stewing on so much we feel compelled to say. Don’t preach every sermon at once.
