What is Preacher’s Block?
Preacher’s Block is an online co-working space for preachers who want to both write better sermons in less time. We join a Zoom call for 90 minutes of focused time, beginning with a brief “check in” to set our intentions for the “block,” and then spend almost 90 minutes on mute while we work on our most important task (typically, a sermon). At the end of our time together, we share and celebrate what we accomplished.
What can I expect in a block?
Here’s what a typical “block” looks like:
(~5 minutes) Gather and share what you’re working on and what you’re blocking out during the 90 minutes together out
(~80 minutes) Work on your own “Most Important Task” on mute alongside the others in the block
(~5 minutes) Unmute and share what you accomplished during the block
Who is Preacher’s Block for?
Preacher’s Block is for preachers of all kinds! During each 90-minute block, we invite you to focus on your “most important task.” Since most of us are preachers, that means our “most important task” is typically a sermon. Because of the community and focus though, many participants will come with the most important task of preparing a Bible study, working on a bulletin, or studying for a class.
